Fits 2 and 3 prong female plug ends (found on most common outdoor extension cords and holiday light strings). And, if you need to only cover the single grounded plug opening of a female plug (such as where you have plugged a 2-prong male plug into a 3-prong female extension cord leaving an exposed ground) you can simply break off the 3rd prong cover tab to use for this scenario (see our product pictures to best visualize this scenario).
